The rural and agricultural and pastoral areas of the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau are usually remote and isolated, with poor energy security, but the plateau is rich in solar energy resources. Based on the analysis of thermal status and energy demand characteristics of residential buildings in plateau rural and agricultural and pastoral areas, this paper proposes a zero-carbon building technology path of “differentiated building insulation priority, passive solar energy technology, active solar heating and power supply, and time division and zoning utilization”, and gives three appropriate solar-driven zero-carbon buildings and energy system technology solutions and design points. Combined with specific engineering cases, the zero-carbon building technology solutions mentioned are discussed, and the relevant contents can provide references for the zero-carbon operation of residential buildings in rural and agricultural and pastoral areas in solar energy-rich areas and the promotion and application of solar energy technology.
